La Ruta:
Frame weight - (with Fox RP23) is 3.5 - 4.1 pounds depending on tube selection and frame size. At this weight, this frame poses a serious advantage for the cross country racer and hard tail enthusiast. We've of course ridden the longer travel bikes. In fact, last years La Ruta had 105 mm of rear wheel travel. We've just come back to what we love to ride, recognizing that weight does matter. The new La Ruta is probably the most balanced, reliable, all around bike we have ever ridden...period.
Bearingless System - Bottom Bracket 'Blade' and inherent spring in shock stays eliminate the need for bearings and maintenance at the most stressed part of the frame. This helps provide full suspension that doesn't creek, need pivot maintenance or loosen over time. This is especially important when you are traveling and service parts are nonexistent.
Full Suspension - 100-130mm front forks are standard for this type of bike with up to 100mm of rear travel at full compression.
Cable Routing - Top routed cables look better and are cleanly tucked underneath the top tube and out of the way. XTR cable housing kit recommended.
Shock Technologies - State of the Art Stable Platform.
Material Used - Titanium mainframe and rear triangle. The down tube is a proprietary butted tube reducing weight while maintaining weld integrity with a 1.75" diameter. The Blade is CNC machined from titanium flat plate.
Size Chart - Small, Medium, Medium Large and Large. Custom geometry available for $100 extra.
